Dr. RobinsonDr. Joe Sam Robinson, Jr. is no stranger to the Middle Georgia area. Macon born and raised, he has served the people of Georgia for over 35 years. Using his wide array of skill and knowledge, Dr. Robinson has also developed national and international neurosurgical research so more doctors and neurosurgeons can better understand the brain.

All of our physicians are incredible! Meet our team.

His passion for medical care overflows beyond the office setting. Dr. Robinson was a charter member of the Trauma Commission of Georgia and was a key part in getting The Medical Center of Central Georgia, Navicent Health, named as one of three, Level 1 Trauma centers in Georgia. Dr. Robinson also led the lobby efforts to get a portion of Georgia “super speeder funds” allocated towards Trauma Care in the state. He served as a member of the commission until 2011.

His heart reaches out to Mercer University, as well. Dr. Robinson, recently named a member of the Mercer University Board of Trustees, assisted in the development of the Mercer School of Medicine. He has also served as a Professor of Neurosurgery at Mercer University and a Clinical Professor at Medical College of Georgia. Because of his talent and resources, many college students are able to pursue their dream of helping others, much like how Dr. Robinson himself is helping hundreds of patients every year!

While most of his work during the last three decades has been in Middle Georgia, he’s also been all over the United States and the world to complete his education and training. Additionally, Dr. Robinson has travelled internationally giving lectures and presentations on healthcare. A few of the places he has visited include:

  • China
  • England
  • Honduras
  • Italy
  • Lithuania
  • Peru
  • Scotland
  • Thailand

Dr. Robinson is a writer, as well! With three published books and over 115 articles for publication in the Journal of Chronic Diseases and the Journal of Neurosurgery and Neuroscience, he is well-known all over the world.
