Kim W Johnston, MD

She insisted that I needed a letter from the VA in order to be seen, even after I explained multiple times that my injury was from a car accident and had nothing to do with my military service. She also stated that Tricare and the VA are the same thing, which is simply inaccurate.
To verify the facts, I personally spent about 30 minutes on hold with the VA, who confirmed they were not involved because this was not a service-related issue. They also confirmed that Tricare and the VA are separate entities. Tricare should only require the proper referral through my doctor and insurance process.
What made the situation worse was the attitude. Rather than listening or trying to help, Stacy argued with me and spoke in a condescending manner. She later contacted my wife and repeated the same misinformation, then told her she would give her “one more week to figure it out.”
Patients should not have to educate office staff on basic insurance matters or be spoken to disrespectfully while trying to receive care. I hope management addresses the lack of professionalism, communication, and training.
I want to make an appointment for myself.Today I am. Sciatic nerve pain.🙂
