Dr. Smisson hosted visiting surgeons from Mexico and Arkansas last week to provide a first hand look at his mini indirect decompression and fusion utilizing the Stabilink device. This quick, minimally invasive procedure can be performed in GNI’s out-patient surgery center allowing patients to recover at home rather than the hospital. The procedure negates the need for rods and screws in most patients allowing for less potential for post-surgical complications. This procedure utilizes a very small incision and can usually be performed in less than 30 minutes.
